Grass Model Women Vest

Welcome to my latest knitting project – the Grass Model Women Vest. This vest is perfect for any season, and the lovely grass stitch pattern adds a unique and stylish touch. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced knitter, this pattern is easy to follow, and you will have a beautiful vest in no time!

Materials needed:

Yarn: 2 balls of worsted weight yarn (or any yarn of your choice)

Knitting needles: size 6 (or any size that gives you the gauge you need)

Scissors

Tapestry needle

Gauge:

The gauge for this pattern is 18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch.

Pattern:

Back:

    Cast on 76 stitches.

    Knit 4 rows in garter stitch.

    Row 5 (right side): Knit 3, *purl 2, knit 2; repeat from * to last 5 stitches, purl 2, knit 3.

    Row 6: Purl 3, *knit 2, purl 2; repeat from * to last 5 stitches, knit 2, purl 3.

    Repeat rows 5 and 6 until the piece measures 11 inches from the cast-on edge, ending with a wrong side row.

    Next row (right side): Knit 39, bind off 14 stitches for the armhole, knit to the end.

    Continue working on the remaining stitches until the piece measures 18 inches from the cast-on edge, ending with a wrong side row.

    Next row (right side): Knit 2, knit 2 together, yarn over, knit 2 together, knit to the end.

    Repeat the last row until 4 stitches remain.

    Bind off all stitches.

Front:

    Cast on 38 stitches.

    Knit 4 rows in garter stitch.

    Row 5 (right side): Knit 3, *purl 2, knit 2; repeat from * to last 5 stitches, purl 2, knit 3.

    Row 6: Purl 3, *knit 2, purl 2; repeat from * to last 5 stitches, knit 2, purl 3.

    Repeat rows 5 and 6 until the piece measures 11 inches from the cast-on edge, ending with a wrong side row.

    Next row (right side): Knit 14, bind off 10 stitches for the armhole, knit to the end.

    Continue working on the remaining stitches until the piece measures 18 inches from the cast-on edge, ending with a wrong side row.

    Next row (right side): Knit 2, knit 2 together, yarn over, knit 2 together, knit to the end.

    Repeat the last row until 4 stitches remain.

    Bind off all stitches.
